Drake's fashion label October's Very Own has teamed up with the National Hockey League (NHL) to launch a new Fall/Winter 2022 collection called "Celebrating Icons of Hockey" launching with the Toronto Maple Leafs team first. The collection features a couple of the team's legends Doug Gilmour and Curtis Joseph who were front and center modeling the OVO new line.
Drake now moves his OVO fashion line into a second professional sports league, having already taken the brand into the NBA when he became an official ambassador to the Toronto Raptors. "October's Very Own has partnered with the National Hockey League (NHL) on an ongoing brand partnership celebrating the Icons of Hockey," wrote on their official Instagram page. "As one of the longest standing hockey franchises, the Toronto Maple Leafs have been an integral part of Canada's sports hertiage since 1917."
The collaboration will include a limited edition leather and wool varsity jacket, both sported by Gilmour and Joseph with only 250 made. Along with the varsity jackets, the collection will consist of hats, sweaters, rugby polos, toques, hockey mask, and other accessories. Fans will be able to get ahold of the gear starting Nov. 28th at 12 p.m. EST.
However Drake is not the the first Pro to partner with the Maple Leafs. Just last season, the team introduced Justin Bieber's Drew House brand to the league, featuring the NHL's first-ever reversible jersey worn throughout the year. Bieber's jerseys did so well that the Drew House inspired look will be brought back this season for a series of games.
Which NHL team would you like to see next collaborate with OVO or should there be another streetwear brand that should do this?!
