Top 10 Kicks of February 2020!
2020 has begun and in terms of fashion trends, it has definitely not disappointed. The Creative minds of the professional athlete are being observed every day through custom fits, various collaborations and simply wherever their mind wanders. When it comes to athletes, fashion eyes tend to flock south bound; to their sneakers. We’ve seen the shoe game, and the price tags, in 2020 exhibit that they are truly a work of art.
Many athletes are in what I like to call ‘Hi-Top Season’, where high-top sneakers are on full display. This winter season calls for the cozy and warm energy that high-tops provide.
We gave everyone time to ease into the decade in January, but February, now that was where the mastery was on display! So let’s take a look at the ProTrending Top 10 sneakers from February 2020:
10. Nike x Off-White AF1 ‘MCA’
(Spoiler Alert: We can’t help but add a plethora of Air Forces to this list!) Off-Whites have been a staple in the sneaker world ever since Virgil Abloh created ‘The Ten’ in 2018. Since then, Abloh has worked on a ton of new silhouettes, one being the timeless Air Force 1. Rockets forward PJ Tucker is showing off the $1,400 baby blue sneaker, making it stand out with a Sherlock Holmes-style overcoat!
9. Air Jordan 1 ‘Pine Green’
Air Jordan 1. Need I say more? The third year forward, Jayson Tatum, has been given the keys to the Boston Celtics and is on the fast lane to stardom. Reppin’ the Boston green, Tatum explored the Air Jordan 1 ‘Pine Green’ High-top with FOG Logo Lounge pants and an Off-White tactical vest.
8. Air Jordan 1 Mid “Fearless SE Maison Chateau Rogue”
For the most part of the 2010’s, Jordan 1 mid’s have gotten a bad rep as a shoe that no one really cares about. When the Jordan 1 ‘Fearless’ collaboration came out in late 2019, many have shown them the proper love they deserve. The Fearless collaboration has explored colors that stand out and many different shades of pastels that somehow work. Celtics PG Kemba Walker joins his Boston brother on the list, with a Marni tie-dye windbreaker.
7. Nike Blazer Mid 77 ‘Multisuede’
Here at ProTrending, we’ve always had a love for Nike Blazers. Now, in 2020, I’m glad that they are getting the hype and return they so rightfully needed. The Nike Blazer Mid 77 has always had a great amount of collaborations, this time straying away from the most popular all-white color way. The ‘Multisuede’ is exactly how it sounds…a suede Nike sneaker with multi-colored parts of the shoe. Russell Westbrook rocks these with an array of colors, from a maroon tie-dye pants and a blue collared button-up.
6. Air Force 1 High x Jus Don All Star Blue
Of course we can’t forget the GOAT! LBJ has a very simple style, often not too crowded or with crazy colors. James paid homage to Los Angeles by rocking a Los Angeles Dodgers hat, a Gucci x Disney flannel and the Air Force 1 x Jus Don All-Star High Top Sneakers!
5. Converse Chuck Taylor Lugged High Top
Converse has always been a staple. While it is not a shoe that resells for much, Converse has always stayed the same, quality product, except for some slight changes of course! Catch Rockets and All-Star point guard Russell Westbrook rocking the Lugged Converse High Top, pairing them with a nice navy-blue boiler suit.
4. Nike Undercover Daybreak ‘Blue Jay’
Can we say heat on feet? Miami Heat forward Jimmy Butler has been crazy on and off the court. He rocks this vintage style perfectly with the 2019 collaboration between Nike and Undercover. The shoes are the most underrated shoe on this list, as they came out around the same time as the Nike x Sacai collaboration. Butler rocks the ‘Blue Jay’ color way with a vintage Lauryn Hill tee!
3. Air Force 1 x Clot Rose Gold Silk
Man, Air Forces have been going crazy. This time, Nike had an Air Force Clot color way, where with time and wear, the first layer of the shoe strips off to another layer, thus almost creating another shoe! PJ Tucker has always stood out on his outfits, and this fit is no different, rocking a multi-colored blazer and navy shorts. (We told you someone was wearing shorts.)
2. Nike x Off-White Air Max 97 Elemental Rose Serena
Our favorite fit of this entire list. It’s so simple, yet the colors stand out and makes for a truly excellent cozy sweatsuit. Anthony Davis has made his mark in Los Angeles and will not stop at nothing til he gets what he wants! Davis pairs this Kith sweatsuit with our personal favorite off-white collaboration sneaker, the Air Max 97 in the Elemental Rose Serena color way!
1. Air Force 1 x CPFM
The best shoe on this list for February 2020…is an Air Force? Yes, another Air Force, but not just any AF1. A Collaboration with hype brand Cactus Plant Flea Market. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander rocks these ‘Air Flea’ sneakers with a ‘Pleasures’ brown flannel!
