Terry William Rozier III
Born in Youngstown, Ohio...
Terry Rozier was raised by his mother and grandmother. Basketball became his passion. Despite a brilliant high school career, grades kept him from Division 1 recruitment. One year at Hargrave Military Academy put him on the map. When Louisville came knocking, Terry committed to the Cardinals. After Two years in Kentucky, Terry declared for the 2015 NBA Draft.
The Boston Celtics took Terry in the first round. The Celtics were a young team, studded with talent. Terry didn't play much his rookie year. He took several assignments with Boston's D-League squad. He gained momentum in 2016, but failed to crack the starting line-up. In 2017 he got his first start. He became the second player in history to record a triple-double in his first start. Then, Kyrie Irving went down. Terry became the starting point guard for the playoff-bound Celtics. With Terry at the helm, the Celtics made it to the Eastern Conference Championship. Terry has become a legit contender for the NBA's Sixth Man award, as rumors of Kyrie's departure from Boston gathering steam.
- He became the first Celtics player to score 20 or more points in a half on perfect shooting since 2009
- In his rookie year, Terry drew comparisons to Portland’s Damian Lillard, an honor considering Dame’s perennial all-Star status
- When teammate Kyrie Irving exploded on his talented young team after a loss, Terry gave his two cents saying, “… it was probably stuff that people didn’t want to hear. But it’s showing.
