Melvin Gordon III
Before bolting plays for the Chargers, Melvin Gordon was terrorizing Big Ten defenses in his home state of Wisconsin. As the top player in the state, Melvin Gordon powered through a series of three head coaches in four years at his chosen University of Wisconsin-Madison. An adaptable and versatile player, Melvin broke the FBS single game rushing record his senior year with 408 yards against Nebraska.
Melvin’s national recognition as a finalist for the Heisman Trophy helped to secure a No.15 draft selection to the then San Diego Chargers. Earning the starting job from day one of his rookie season, Melvin continued to bolt for the Chargers until a knee injury sidelined him for the rest of the season. It wasn't until his second year in the league that Melvin scored his first NFL rushing touchdown, but he didn't start with just one. Ending the season with 10 rushing touchdowns, Melvin found his footing in the league.
