Maya April Moore
Three high school Georgia State Championships helped place Maya Moore on the map. Amongst a multitude of top state honors, Maya was the Gatorade National Player of the year in 2007. Selecting to attend the University of Connecticut, the Huskies posted a 150-4 record during her time. A perfect 90-0 streak and two NCAA Championships highlighted Maya’s career with the Huskies. Still the fourth leading scorer in NCAA history, it came of no surprise that Maya was selected No. 1 overall in the WNBA draft.
Maya continued to make winning championships look easy. Three WNBA Championships, a finals and league MVP award and one Euroleague Championship made Maya’s first four years out of college pretty sweet. Since then, she’s been selected an All Star five times, won four WNBA championships and as of 2018 was the league’s leader in steals. Overseas, where most WNBA players secure their most lucrative contracts Maya has been equally successful. Two Euroleague titles, one Russian Championship, three in China and one in Spain keeps Maya’s jewelry collection stacked with championship rings. If her stats weren’t golden enough, she also has two Olympic gold medals with Team USA.
