Marcedes Alexis Lewis
Strong discipline and work ethic...
that was instilled for Marcedes Lewis at a young age laid the groundwork for a 13-year NFL career. Raised by a teenage, single mother in Long Beach, California, Marcedes learned to be self-sufficient early on. It was on the football field, in his pop warner days, where Marcedes learned how important relationships are in life and where they can take you. Marcedes was a standout athlete in both basketball and football in high school, choosing to pursue both at the University of California Los Angeles. Deciding to focus solely on football after his freshman year, Marcedes’ career on the gridiron skyrocketed. He’s the only recipient from UCLA of the John Mackey Award for the best tight end in college football.
With the 28th pick in the 2006 NFL Draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars selected Marcedes Lewis. He stayed with the team for 12 seasons and had one Pro Bowl selection. After being released from the team in 2017, the Green Bay Packers picked up the six-foot-six tight end.
