John Wall was born in Raleigh, North Carolina. In the midst of a rough childhood, John found basketball a refuge. His moved around during high school for his mother's jobs and to escape John's trouble-prone path. He found his footing as a fifth year senior. After his last year in high school, he competed in several national elite tournaments. His performances landed him a scholarship offer from the University of Kentucky. One season later, John declared for the 2010 NBA Draft.
In his first season, Wall made the NBA All-Rookie First Team. He finished second in Rookie of the Year voting. The Wizards led by Wall made the playoffs in 2013. He was voted a starter for the 2014 NBA All-Star Game. He has made the playoffs every year since. His name is near the top of All-Star voting year in and year out. Whenever talk of the NBA's fastest player starts up, John is always in the discussion.
