Jamal Lee Adams
Born in Lewisville, Texas
Jamal Adams credits playing both offense and defense as a high schooler in Texas to his versatility on the field. As the No.1 safety in the nation he chose Louisiana State University for college ball. Adams made an immediate impact as a true freshmen for the Tigers, eventually being named a freshman All-American. His final season with the Tigers, their defense only allowed 16 touchdowns.
Strolling down the red carpet in oversized shades and a windowpane plaid suit in an eggshell hue, Jamal made a statement at the 2017 NFL draft. The New York Jets were next to make a statement, by selecting Adams with the 6th overall pick. As a rookie, he earned the starting strong safety spot, keeping that start for all 16 games. A shining light in a losing 2018 season for the Jets was Adams’ playmaking abilities. The league took notice, as he was voted into this first Pro Bowl. With over 100 tackles, he was also named the team’s MVP of the season.
