Donovan Vernell Mitchell Jr.

Coming from Elmsford, New York, Donovan Mitchell had NBA dreams since he can remember. He played basketball and baseball in high school, but transferred to a basketball school his sophomore year. Quitting baseball his junior year, his focus on basketball grabbed the attention of college scouts. Donovan chose Louisville to continue his basketball career. In one year with the Cardinals, he made the All-Atlantic Coast Conference First Team.
Donovan was chosen in the first round of the 2017 NBA draft by the Denver Nuggets. The Nuggets dealt him on draft night to the Utah Jazz for two players. He made his mark immediately in Utah, setting the record for rookie scoring in Jazz franchise history. He won the 2018 Slam Dunk contest as a rookie. The Jazz made the playoffs with him at the helm, beating the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round. Donovan was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team.
