Christopher Wesson Bosh
Chris was born in Dallas...
Texas. He grew up playing basketball with his younger brother, Joel, and father, Noel. His father is actually the one that taught him how to dribble at the tender age of four. Chris is a very tall man coming in at 6’11. When he was young he was the tallest of all his friends which allowed him to out-rebound his opponents when playing pickup games. In middle school he enjoyed playing baseball and started focusing his attention on that sport over basketball. But, as time went on Chris started playing basketball again and garnered the attention of many college recruiters.
Chris attended Georgia Tech but left so he could enter the 2003 NBA draft. He was selected fourth overall by the Toronto Raptors. Chris was in great company during this draft with future heavy hitters Carmelo Anthony, Dwyane Wade and LeBron James all being a part of this draft class. When Chris started his career he was one of the youngest in the league but proved himself to be a superstar. During his time with Toronto he became a five time NBA All-Star and won a gold medal at the 2008 Olympics with the U.S National Team. After several successful seasons with Toronto, Chris signed with the Miami Heat in 2010. Currently, Chris is a free agent.
- In high school he was voted “Mr Basketball” by his peers
- Chuck Swirsky gave him the nickname “CB4” which mixed his initials with the number he wore when he was with Toronto
- Back when he was in high school he was a member of the National Honor Society as well as the National Society of Black Engineers.
