Andre Tyler Iguodala
A son of Springfield, Illinois...
Andre was an all around star. He was a solid small forward in high school. He won academic honors and three varsity letters in track and field for the long jump. Andre earned his spurs in a competitive basketball class. His game winning shot in the AAU national tournament earned him MVP rights on a team with fellow future pros Dwyane Wade and Quentin Richardson. By graduation, he ranked as the sixth best at his position in the country.
Andre chose to play his college ball at the University of Arizona over Kansas and Arkansas. Many coaches and scouts saw him as a 'track star turned basketball player.' During his two years at Arizona, Andre shattered that misconception. When he left college for the NBA draft in 2004, Iguodala was a bona fide Pac-10 legend. Andre's NBA career began in Philadelphia, continued in Denver and blossomed with Golden State. He won the Finals MVP award in the first of his three championship seasons.
- During the 2011 NBA lockout, Iguodala had a week-long internship with Merrill Lynch
- Iguodala is a tech-investor and a leading advocate for athletes in the NBA to invest in the technology industry
- Andre has become a golf fanatic
