Best in the West
Welcome to the West Coast, aka the Best Coast. Boasting the toughest competition alongside the toughest fits, we had to pay homage to the Best In the West! There’s no shortage of star power in the west, but at ProTrending, elite on-the-court capabilities don’t make you No.1 in the fashion files.
10. Patty Mills: PG/SG – San Antonio Spurs
What I love about Patty is his simplicity. Often times, we get caught up in the flash and the wow factor of an outfit, but sometimes, simple is more than enough. Mills rocks a black windbreaker, teal mesh shorts and white canvas sneakers and makes a casual, leisurely fit look lively.
9. Russell Westbrook: PG – Houston Rockets
I have a question for all the readers out there: WHY NOT? Why not wear the most extreme outfits that sometimes may not make sense? Why not feel free and comfortable in the clothes? WHY NOT? I mean, that is the motto of Russell Westbrook. In this, Russ is captured in a Richard Miller sweater, pink 99 Percentis rubber band pants and Nike Air Max 270 sneakers.
8. Kyle Kuzma – SF: Los Angeles Lakers
The man. The myth. The new face of Puma Basketball. Kyle Kuzma takes risks and bets on himself, which is why he lands himself on this list. The cameras were shining on Kyle, as he walked through the tunnels wearing a Puma utility vest, LQDC optic shear shoes and Marcelo Burton lettering pants, making this all-black tech wear outfit look seamless!
7. Jordan Clarkson: SG – Utah Jazz
Clarkson is a mogul and a pioneer when it comes to defining and improvising the updated fashion sense we see with so many athletes sport today. While some are out there and extreme, he is never afraid to push the boundaries and limitations of streetwear style. This time, Jordan blends this fit beautifully, rocking the brand new Travis Scott collaboration shoe with Nike, the Travis Scott SB Dunk Lows and a Dak Prescott Dallas Cowboys football jersey.
6. Devin Booker: SG – Phoenix Suns
When I think of the word underrated, I immediately think of DBook. Booker finally made his first All-Star appearance this season after the tremendous effort and work he puts into his game. We also feel here at ProTrending that he puts work into is pregame fits as well! In this photo, Devin is spotted in a John Elliot polar fleece jacket mixed with Nike Air Jordan 1 Mid ‘Dark Concord’.
5. Karl-Anthony Towns: C – Minnesota Timberwolves
How rude would it be of us to not add a big man on this list? Of course we have to show love to the coolest KAT on the west coast! Karl-Anthony is having a career year and has been feeling himself all season. Well, how better to do so then by wearing Gucci stripe chenille tracksuit!
4. PJ Tucker: PF – Houston Rockets
You know we can’t forget PJ Tucker, right? The self-proclaimed ‘sneaker king’ who has a sneaker bag with 18+ pairs of shoes for himself had to be on this list proper. PJ once said in an interview with Bleacher Report, that ‘nothing is unattainable’. Well, he made that very apparent in this picture, wearing a green Kolor high-low hem coat and Nike Air 1 Yeezy’s, the real star of the show!
3. Kelly Oubre: SF/PF – Phoenix Suns
Tsunami Papi in the building! While Kelly Oubre is not a superstar on the court, his name and style alone makes him a superstar in our eyes and in fashion-lovers everywhere. Oubre has had a career year, averaging 19 points and six rebounds and off the court, can be seen wearing the Supreme Star Letterman jacket and custom skull jeans from Deadfrens.
2. D’angelo Russell: PG – Minnesota Timberwolves
“I got ice all in my arteries like D’Lo, hometown hero” – Jack Harlow, Walk In the Park
You know you’re popping when artists give you a shoutout in their songs! Recently the newest member of the Minnesota Timberwolves, Mr. Ice in my Veins has the ability to make any style look good. Russell has an awesome streetwear/casual cool vibe about him, sporting a mustard overcoat with patchwork joggers and red dress shoes. He is easily one of the best dressed on the west coast.
1. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander: PG/SG – OKC Thunder
This was a no-brainer! In terms of best dressed on any list of ours, the second year player out of Kentucky will surely be on a lot of these. The most-improved player candidate came correct pregame, posted In a Nike x Cactus Plant Flea Market hockey jersey and the Off-White Air Force 1 ‘MOMA’.
